Firewall & Proxy

  • Firewall compatibility - Arel's flexible server architecture ensures connection through corporate firewalls. Arel software components use dynamic connection adaptation technology and switch, transparently to the user, to tunneling over HTTP protocol via port 80 or to HTTPS when a firewall blocks communications. This includes all audio/video, messaging, application sharing, content downloads, and all other components to complete a full live session without opening any additional ports on firewalls, in a secure way. Proxy servers are also supported.

  • Proxy server friendly - Arel's connectivity is maintained when Proxy servers are found on the network path between its different clients and servers. Using mechanisms like detecting browser usage patterns, auto-configuration and support for user name and password to go through, Arel makes sure it is likely that Proxy servers need not be specially configured for the ICP to transparently function.

  • Network Address Translation (NAT) support - Network Address Translation (NAT) is an Internet standard that enables a local-area network (LAN) to use one set of IP addresses for internal traffic and a second set of addresses for external traffic. Firewalls usually use this standard to protect the LAN from intruders. In the existence of NAT Arel ICP allows its users to participate and communicate.
